What waking up here looks like
Open your eyes to the colour of the bay before the breeze picks up — that improbable pale jade that only happens at slack tide. The sand outside your door is a fine coral-white, soft enough to walk barefoot to the kitchen for coffee. About twenty metres out, the fringing reef breaks the chop and gives you the still, clear water where the parrotfish work all morning.
By mid-morning the sun has shifted; the loungers under the coconut palms hold their shade till one. There is no road noise here — just the small clink of a fisherman's outrigger setting off, and once a day, the very distant chug of the Atauro ferry crossing the strait. At sunset the bay turns gold and then violet, and the bar staff bring a small plate of grilled prawns down to the sand if you want to keep watching.

On the sand — what we bring you
Loungers, umbrellas, and hammocks are complimentary for guests — no reservation, just walk down. Our beach bar opens at 11 and the kitchen will deliver any menu item to the sand: just wave at the umbrella desk.
Tides & safety
Lifeguard: No lifeguard on duty — staff trained in basic rescue
Jellyfish: Occasional sightings November to January — never serious, but worth a glance before you swim.
Children should always swim with an adult — the reef edge drops off quickly.
Sunsets & sunrises
North-facing — full sunset over the Wetar Strait
Golden hour at this latitude is short and intense — about thirty minutes from the first deep colour to true dark. The very last light hits the headland to the west, so most guests grab a drink and walk a hundred metres up the sand for the postcard angle. Sunrise on the eastern side of the bay is quieter — the fishermen are already out by then.
