About this place

A long, golden-sand public beach famed for affordable food stalls and relaxed atmosphere near Dili.

One Dollar Beach gets its name from the traditional price for a day’s leisure at the beach or for fresh coconut drinks sold by locals. Located a short drive east of Dili, this broad, sandy coastline is much loved for picnics, swimming, and affordable road-side snacks. Clean water, casual reggae cafes, and relaxed Timorese hospitality make this a favorite weekend escape for families and visitors alike.
