Uma Uatolari Fortress Ruins

Perched atop a scenic hill in the Uatolari subdistrict, Uma Uatolari Fortress Ruins are a testament to Timor-Leste’s storied past. Once a formidable defensive structure, the fortress now comprises atmospheric remnants—stone walls and trenches—set amidst sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. The approach road can be rough and steep in parts, so a 4WD vehicle is recommended. There are no facilities at the site, so bring water and any supplies you may need for your visit.
