The story of this place
Valu has long been the coastal threshold for the Fataluku people of Tutuala. Across the narrow channel lies Jaco Island (Totuala), held as strictly sacred (lulik) where no permanent habitation is permitted. Local boatmen uphold traditional Tara Bandu customary laws governing the crossing.
